By volunteering for Girls' Science Day you are helping make science more accessible for hundreds of middle school girls!
**Times are subject to change based on final schedule.
Morning Volunteers (~8am -10am): Assist with checking girls in and set up our rooms at the start of GSD
Afternoon Volunteers (~3 - 4:30pm): Assist with checking girls out and cleaning up our rooms at the end of the day
Lunch Volunteers (~12 - 1:30pm): Help set up pizza lunch, assist with serving and keeping things under control during lunch and liquid nitrogen ice cream demo, clean up
Experiment Leaders: Design and lead a ~40 min STEM experiment. The experiment will run twice back-to-back, either in the AM or PM session. (click here to get more details)
Group Leaders (~8am - 4:30pm): Lead a group of girls to the different sessions; interact and engage with your group throughout the day.
Day Before Volunteers: ~1 hr in the evening the day before GSD. We will assemble goodie bags and folders.
**All meetings will be held in Miller Rm (328) in Havemeyer Hall except for the Sept. 18th meeting
Tues. Sept. 17: General volunteer meeting @ 7pm
Wed Sept. 18: General volunteer meeting @ 6:30pm in 5th floor conference room in Russ Berrie (same content as 1st meeting)
Wed. Sept. 25: General volunteer meeting @ 7pm (same content as 1st meeting)
Tues. Oct. 29: Experiment leader meeting @ 7pm (not mandatory but highly encouraged)
Fri. Nov. 15: Group leader meeting @ 7pm (mandatory)
Fri. Nov. 15: T-shirt design & Day before prep @ 7:30pm
Tues. Oct. 1: Submit T-shirt design proposals
Fri. Oct. 18: Submit experiment proposals
Fri. Oct. 18: Sign up for volunteer positions
